Delhi polls may have delayed Goa DGP appointment: CM

The Delhi Assembly election may have been the reason for the delay in appointment of a new Director General of Police for Goa, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said on Friday.

Panaji, Feb 14 The Delhi Assembly election may have been the reason for the delay in appointment of a new Director General of Police for Goa, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said on Friday.

After the death of DGP Pranab Nanda due to cardiac arrest in November last year, the state has been functioning without its topmost police official.

"Might be because of the Delhi election and all that. No appointment has been made. Once the appointment has been made, he will come," Sawant said, when asked about the delay in appointing a DGP for the state.
