Several areas of Delhi will be experiencing the power supply suspension on Monday March 30. The duration of the power cut will last for 3 to 4 hours. BSES, has taken this decision to 'tune up' its system ahead of the peak summer season.

Power cut time : On Monday, between 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM in various areas.

Shutdown schedule has been divided into three major sections:

1. West Delhi 'Hotspots' (11:00 AM – 2:00 PM)

Janakpuri & Subhash Nagar: Repair work will be conducted in Blocks 4, 5, and 6, as well as at Aditi Apartments. Rajouri Garden Extension: Power supply will be interrupted in Blocks J and J-9 due to RMU maintenance. Paschim Vihar & Jwalapuri: Repairs to the 11KV feeder will be carried out at Virat Apartments, Jwalapuri Camp-5, and Sunder Vihar (GH10).

2. South Delhi & Rural Areas (11:00 AM – 2:00 PM)

Vasant Kunj & Ghitorni: Feeder maintenance work will take place in Anand Gram and Ghitorni Village from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM (a duration of one and a half hours). Najafgarh and Surrounding Areas: Transformer servicing will be carried out in localities such as Asalatpur Khawad, Durga Vihar-I, and Qutub Vihar.

Okhla (Joga Bai): Here, there will be a power cut lasting just one hour, between 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM.

Palam: Power supply will remain suspended in Raj Nagar Extension (Block F) from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM.

Why Are These Power Cuts Occurring?

BSES clarifies that scheduled power cuts on March 30th are for preventive maintenance, not due to faults. These proactive repairs to transformers and feeders aim to prevent unscheduled outages and incidents like fires during the peak summer months of June and July. While some areas of Delhi will experience temporary inconvenience, this is a necessary step to ensure a more reliable power supply. Cooperation from citizens is appreciated.
