A part of the road in Delhi has been collapsed on Monday night, February 24, near KM Chowk in Dwarka Sector 12, reported news agency ANI. A car was also reported to have fallen in the pit during the incident. The incident took place when a slab covering the drain suddenly caved in, causing the vehicle to sink into the hole.

After receiving the information, Delhi Fire Department teams reached the spot. The car driver and other passengers were safely rescued by the locals. According to the fire department officials, they received a call about a vehicle falling into the pit due to the collapse of the road. Two fire engines were sent to the location. 

Car Falls Into Pit in Delhi

"However, by the time our team arrived, the passengers had already exited the car without injuries. The vehicle was later pulled out,” Delhi Fire Department official said, reported Republic World.

Road Collapse in Dwarka

The exact reason for the collapse is still unknown, but officials suspect that poor construction quality or water damage may have weakened the structure over time. The local administration has launched an investigation into the incident.
