Six firefighters suffered burn wounds from an LPG cylinder blast while extinguishing a fire in a three-storey building in central Delhi's Karol Bagh area on Wednesday. The Delhi Fire Service received an emergency call about the blaze at 1:36 p.m. and dispatched at least eight fire tenders to the scene.

According to the reports, the blast happened during the dousing operation inside the building. The injured firefighters, who were transported to BLK Hospital for treatment, have been identified as Fire Station Officer Batti Lal and fire operators Deepankar, Sandeep, Abhijeet, Rahul Rana, and Pradeep.

The fire, which was brought under control within two hours, is believed to have been caused by a short circuit.
