A shocking incident has come to light in Delhi, where a 27-year-old woman who was a SWAT commando was brutally murdered by her husband. Some details that emerged about the moments before the killing are deeply horrifying. The woman has been identified as Kajal Chaudhary. Recounting the gruesome incident of January 22 in a trembling voice, her brother Nikhil said, “When Kajal’s husband Ankur was striking her on the head with a heavy dumbbell, he asked me to record our phone conversation. He even said that the police could use this recording as evidence. Then he told me that he was killing Kajal, and after that, all I could hear were her screams.”

Kajal was posted with Delhi Police’s special SWAT unit and was at her home in Mohan Garden at the time of the attack. She was four months pregnant. Her husband, Ankur, a clerk with the Ministry of Defence, was arrested within hours of the attack. He was posted at Delhi Cantonment. Kajal battled for her life for five days but succumbed to her injuries on the morning of January 27 at a hospital in Ghaziabad.

“I am killing your sister…” Recounts NikhilKajal’s brother, Constable Nikhil, who is posted at Parliament Street Police Station, said the ordeal began after a call from Ankur. “He called me and said, ‘Explain things to your sister.’ I asked him to calm down and immediately called Kajal. She usually didn’t share much about her personal life, but that day she was pouring her heart out. While we were talking, Ankur got furious about why she was telling me everything and snatched the phone from her. Then he told me to keep the call on recording, saying it would be useful as police evidence. He said, ‘I am killing your sister. The police won’t be able to do anything to me.’ After that, I could only hear Kajal’s screams. I was completely shaken, and suddenly the call got disconnected.”

“She is dead. Come to the hospital.”According to Nikhil, about five minutes later, the phone rang again, and Ankur said, “She is dead, come to the hospital.” Nikhil then rushed to the spot along with the police. Ankur and his family members were already there. Nikhil said, “When I saw my sister… even an enemy would not kill someone so cruelly.”

As per the family, Kajal’s head had been completely crushed and there were multiple injury marks all over her body. All efforts to save her failed, and she eventually died at the Ghaziabad hospital.

It was a love marriageThe couple had known each other since their college days in Panipat and had a love marriage on November 23, 2023. According to family members, due to frequent quarrels at their ancestral home in Ganaur, Haryana, they shifted in December 2024 to a rented house in Mohan Garden, West Delhi. However, the disputes continued there as well.

Police said financial stress and domestic disputes were the main reasons behind the tension. A Delhi Police officer said, “The couple had some loans, and they often argued over money. Ankur first smashed Kajal’s head against the floor and then attacked her with a dumbbell.”
