(life) Denim, it is said, is no style. Rather it is the foundation on which you build your style. Sometimes even for a day. So this Diwali, whether you are planning to go all ethnic, or minimal, Nelson Jaffery, Head of Design, LIVA Birla Cellulose and Abhishek Yadav, Design Head, Spykar Lifestyle offer tips to incorporate denim into your festive looks.

1. Try pairing ethnic kurtas with some jeans for a fuss free look. Kurtas are normally worn by men and women both during festivals. Pairing a classic white kurta with blue jeans has been a go-to for many millennials. You can perhaps add the evergreen Nehru jacket for a smart look. Women can pair anarkalis and kediyu tops with denims for a semi-traditional look.

2. One can also try pairing a light weight denim cape on top of a white ensemble for a classy look. Long jackets with traditional Indian embroidery paired with jeans also make a great fashion statement.

3. Denim as a fabric alone can be stiff and doesn't offer the drape required for a festive look, hence one should opt for denim that is blended with fluid fabrics like viscose and modal. These blends offer the look of denim with a better drape and flow. The fluidity of the fabric ensures a regal look to your Indian wear ensemble.

4. Various Bollywood celebrities have been spotted wearing saris with jeans. It sounds crazy, but pairing a semi draped saree with jeans makes an edgy traditional outfit that is sure to make one the centre of attention. If this is too daring, you can also wear jeans with juttis for a touch of traditional.
