While the second wave of coronaviru is receding in the country, the central government has emphasized on vaccination campaign. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced that all citizens above the age of 18 will be vaccinated free of cost. Since then, experts have now submitted a report to the Prime Minister. Experts have reported in a report to the Prime Minister that people who have recovered from corona do not need the vaccine.

These experts say that people who are at higher risk should be vaccinated instead of planning a large-scale vaccination campaign. Experts believe that large-scale vaccination may be incomplete, so the virus mutants may spread further. The committee of experts also includes AIIMS doctors and members of the Covid 19 reference task force. The group recently reported that corona vaccines should be given to people who are sensitive and at high risk rather than vaccinating in large numbers. As well as places where the transmisssion is rapidly increasing due to the delta variant. In such cases, the gap between the dose of Covishield vaccine should be reduced. Now the interval between the two doses of Covishield has been kept at least 12 weeks.

The report was compiled by experts from the Indian Public Health Association, the Indian Association of Epidemiologists and the Indian Association of Preventive and Social Medicine. It said that considering the current statistics of corona in the country, it is time to consider vaccinating everyone. The report has been handed over to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Vaccinating people and children of all ages would not be appropriate or affordable. Unplanned vaccination can increase mutant variants. So there is no need to vaccinate people who have recovered from corona. Vaccinating everyone will not achieve anything. In particular the availability of vaccines in pandemic crisis is limited. Therefore, to reduce the number of deaths, people who are at risk should be vaccinated, the report said.
