Doval visits Nizamuddin to take stock of evacuation

When the Delhi Police early on Wednessday was evacuating the people from the Nizamuddin Markaz, National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval visited the area to take stock of the situation.

New Delhi, April 1 When the Delhi Police early on Wednessday was evacuating the people from the Nizamuddin Markaz, National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval visited the area to take stock of the situation.

According to Delhi Police sources, Doval arrived in the Nizamuddin area around 2 a.m. and interacted with the police team involved in evacuating the people staying in the religious congregation.

Doval also spoke to the people of the Markaz and appealed to them for help to aid the administration in combating the spread of novel coronavirus (Covid-19).

The source further said that the NSA also spoke to Police Commissioner S.N. Shrivatsava and took the updates on the situation.

The Tablighi-Jamaat came at the centre of storm for holding religious programme during prohibitory orders.

The Nizamuddin Markaz has been evacuated by authorities and evacuees were sent to quarantine as 24 cases of positive coronovirus have been detected till Tuesday late night.

Six people, Maulana Saad, Dr Zeeshan, Mufti Shehzad, M. Saifi, Younus, and Mohd Salman have been named in the FIR in Markaz, Nizamuddin case. Markaz had around 2,100 people & it took 5 days to vacate the place, Delhi Police sources said.
