The deceased driver has been identified as Jallaluddin, a resident of Mewat, while the injured are Sarukh and Wazid who were coming from Maharashtra and was going to Azadpur fruit and vegetables market.

"We received a police control room call at around 2 a.m. informing about the incident. A team reached the spot and found that a truck with registration number RJ 14 GJ 9882 had fallen off the flyover near Ring Road bypass. We had to use gascutters to cut through the truck in order to bring the three out," said a senior police officer.

The three were rushed to a nearby hospital where Jallaluddin was declared brought dead while the other two are undergoing treatment.

"During initial investigation, it came to light that the driver was driving fast in order to cover up the lost time due to the traffic. When the truck reached near Ring Road, the overspeeding driver lost control and the truck fell off the flyover. A police control room call was made and a team was rushed to the spot. The driver died on the spot," the officer said.

Police have registered a case under sections 279 and 304A, adding that the family members of the deceased have been informed about the incident.
