An earthquake of 3.9 magnitude on the Richter scale struck Leh in Ladakh on Friday morning, March 27, according to the National Center for Seismology (NCS). As per seismic data, quake occurred at 8.31 am IST, with its epicentre located near Leh at latitude 36.692°N and longitude 74.382°E, at a shallow depth of about 10 km.

There were no immediate reports of casualties, major structural damage, or widespread disruption in Leh or nearby areas. 

"EQ of M: 3.9, On: 27/03/2026 08:31:09 IST, Lat: 36.692 N, Long: 74.382 E, Depth: 10 Km, Location: Leh, Ladakh," said NCS in a post on X.
