A earthquake of magnitude 3.7 on the Richter Scale struck Haryana on Monday night. The tremors were felt in Delhi and NCR as well. According to the National Centre for Seismology, the magnitude of the quake was 3.7 and the epicentre was near Haryana's Jhajjar."Earthquake of Magnitude:3.7, Occurred on 05-07-2021, 22:36:54 IST, Lat: 28.70 & Long: 76.65, Depth: 5 Km ,Location: 10km N of Jhajjar," said National Centre for Seismology.

According to the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), "Delhi is located in zone IV which has fairly high seismicity where the general occurrence of earthquakes is of 5-6 magnitude, a few of magnitude 6-7 and occasionally of 7-8 magnitude. "A similar earthquake of magnitude 2.8 was reported from Thoubal in Manipur at 8.20 pm on Monday. Just last week, another earthquake of magnitude 4.6 had struck Leh in Ladakh. The epicentre was found to be at a depth of 18 kms.
