A heartwrenching video of a helpless farmer crying over the low price he received from his sale of onions has taken social media by storm.  The short clip clearly depicts the sad state of the Ahmednagar resident who looked clueless as he faces a huge financial burden.

Speaking about his plight, the farmer says, “I had to employ labourers to pick onions from the field in rain. How do I pay them? What should I take home to feed my family?” He also stressed the fact that their needs are not looked after by the government. The clip which has got everyone's attention was also brought to the notice of opposition leaders notably Priyanka Gandhi who shared the video on her verified Twitter handle.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra attacked the government and asked, ”What is the plight of farmers under the BJP government? To stop the rising prices of onions, they are being imported, but our farmers do not get the right price for their onions which they have grown with their hard work.''
