An encounter broke out between Mulugu district police, Greyhounds and Naxals at Venkatapur near the Telangana-Chhattisgarh border.
An operation is underway by the security forces.
"Number of Naxal casualties gunned down will be communicated once the operation is done," said Mulugu SP.
