Rai alleged that Das had claimed to have provided 26,000 jobs in a single day, which is false. Rai demanded a probe into the job scam.

Rai, a former BJP leader, defeated Das in the 2019 assembly polls from Jamshedpur east.

"The previous Raghubar Das government had claimed of providing jobs to 26,000 youths in a single day. It was a hoax. We demand a probe by Hemant Soren government," said Rai to reporters.

He said, "On January 12, 2018, amid much fanfare the state government announced to have provided jobs to 26,000 youths on a single day. The government claimed to have the people's names, addresses and mobile phone numbers."

"I have probed the matter from my side and it seems that the claims appear to be a hoax. The 26,000 jobs claim was also registered in the Limca Book of Records." said Rai.

He said there was a gross mis-match over the claims of the then state government of Raghubar Das and the record of the Skill Development Mission. On January 12, 2018 it was claimed that 26,693 youths were given jobs but when the skill development mission conducted a probe, the phone numbers of 11,541 such youths were either switched off or not reachable, of 878 youths were found not existing, and another 261 were wrong numbers.

Seven thousand two hundred youths got the offer letters but did not join, however the skill development mission also did not reveal the exact number of youths who are actually working.
