New Delhi, July 15 A major fire broke out on Friday morning at a restaurant in central Delhi's Connaught Place area and officials said no one was injured in the incident.

The fire official said that they got a call of the incident at around 5.32 a.m.

"Fire was in Hi Fi Restaurant situated at Outer Circle Connaught Place opposite Alka Hotel. After receiving the call we sent six fire tenders to the site to put out the fire," said the official.

He said that the restaurant was being run on the first floor of the building. He said that no one was hurt in the incident.

The police also reached the spot to assist the firefighters. The local people could be seen in numbers at some distance from the site of the incident, watching as the firefighters were extinguishing the fire. The local police set a perimeter for the people to keep them away from the incident site.

The official said that the fire was brought under control in a very short time.
