The Income Tax Department's new website was launched on Monday night. However, after taxpayers posted a photo of the website crashing on Twitter, FM Sitharaman said that she received many grievances about glitches from citizens on her Twitter timeline and urged Infosys to fix them and ensure that there is no “let down” in the quality of service being provided to taxpayers.

She said, “The much awaited e-filing portal 2.0 was launched last night at 20:45 hrs. I see in my TL grievances and glitches. Hope Infosys and Nandan Nilekani will not let down our taxpayers in the quality of service being provided.” “Ease in compliance for the taxpayer should be our priority,” she added.

The e-filing portal 2.0 was launched at 8.45pm on Monday night. The Income Tax Department has provided various facilities on this new website. After entering your PAN number, all your information will be automatically loaded on your account. Many such facilities are provided on this website. However, as the website started having problems, many people had complained about it by posting photos on social media.

The home page of the new website said, “E-filing 2.0 is an all-new portal with features that make e-filing easier for you!” "The portal has been developed as a mission mode project under the national e-governance plan. The objective of this portal is to provide a single window to the income tax-related services for taxpayers and other stakeholders," it added.
