Former Congress MLA Bamber Thakur was attacked on Holi in Himachal Pradesh’s Bilaspur. He was shot in the leg when unidentified assailants opened fire at his house. His personal security officer (PSO), Sanjeev Kumar, was also injured in the attack and has been hospitalized.

According to the police, around 13 rounds were fired during the incident. Both Thakur and his PSO sustained gunshot wounds to the back and stomach. Thakur was initially treated in Bilaspur before being shifted to IGMC Shimla for advanced medical care, while his PSO is in critical condition at AIIMS Bilaspur.

Some other individuals were also injured in the firing and are currently receiving treatment. Thakur's son, Ishaan Singh, confirmed the attack in a Facebook post, stating that his father is undergoing treatment.

The police have launched an investigation and are working to identify the attackers and their motive. Security in the area has been tightened to prevent any further incidents. Authorities are actively tracing those responsible for the attack, and updates on the investigation will follow soon.
