Dehradun, April 15 In view of the upcoming Char Dham Yatra, along with the peak tourism and wedding season, the Uttarakhand Food and Civil Supplies Department held a high-level review meeting on Wednesday to assess the availability of domestic and commercial LPG, as well as petrol and diesel supplies.

The meeting was chaired by Food Secretary Anand Swaroop and attended by state-level coordinators, representatives of oil companies, and District Supply Officers from across the state.

During the meeting, the secretary said that all district officials must ensure uninterrupted supply of LPG and fuel so that the public does not face any inconvenience. Given the expected influx of lakhs of pilgrims during the Char Dham Yatra, he directed officials to strengthen supply systems and maintain adequate stock levels throughout the period.

Officials from various districts shared feedback on operational challenges, including seasonal spikes in LPG demand, increased consumption of commercial cylinders due to the wedding season, transportation and distribution issues, and the need for better coordination at the agency level. The secretary instructed that all such issues be addressed promptly.

Representatives of oil companies assured the administration that they are committed to maintaining supply as per prescribed norms and are taking swift action to resolve district-level concerns. They also highlighted ongoing coordination with local agencies to ensure smooth distribution.

The secretary further directed oil companies to work closely with gas agencies across all districts to ensure timely delivery and quick resolution of any disruptions. District Supply Officers were asked to maintain continuous monitoring and take immediate action whenever required.

Special emphasis was placed on maintaining sufficient availability of fuel and LPG along key travel routes and major stops during the Char Dham Yatra, so that pilgrims and tourists do not face any difficulties.

Senior officials, including Additional Commissioner Food P S Pangtey and other department representatives, were also present at the meeting.
