A sudden explosion triggered panic at the revered Ganeshwar Teerth Dham in the Neem Ka Thana area of Rajasthan’s Sikar district after a suitcase reportedly dumped inside the Galav Kund went off with a loud bang. The intensity of the blast alarmed devotees, workers and nearby residents, sending many into a state of fear and chaos within the temple premises. Thick black smoke engulfed the area moments after the explosion, creating an atmosphere of confusion and distress. The impact was so strong that cracks reportedly developed in nearby walls. Fortunately, no one was standing close to the kund at the time, preventing any injuries or casualties.
Upon receiving information, the Neem Ka Thana Sadar police rushed to the scene with a heavy deployment and secured the entire area to prevent further risk. Renovation work underway at the temple complex was immediately halted, and the area was evacuated as a precautionary measure. Senior police officials, along with a CID team from Neem Ka Thana and a Bomb Disposal Squad from Jaipur, examined the suitcase and the surrounding site. After an extensive search, no explosive material was recovered. Investigators began collecting forensic evidence, reviewing CCTV footage and questioning labourers and eyewitnesses to determine how the suitcase reached the kund.

Range Inspector General Raghavendra Suhas stated that preliminary findings indicate the blast was caused by metallic sodium reacting with water, rather than by any conventional explosive device. He confirmed that no injuries were reported and assured that authorities are probing all possible angles. Rajasthan Minister Jawahar Singh Bedham also addressed the incident, saying that prima facie there appears to be no indication of a terrorist or communal angle, though a comprehensive investigation is ongoing. An FSL team has been informed to ascertain the exact cause. Meanwhile, officials have urged the public to remain calm and avoid spreading rumours.
