A fire engulfed luxury cottages near Ajoba Temple in north Goa on the evening of Thursday, April 16, leaving a thick layer of black smoke in the surrounding area. The massive blaze left behind extensive damage, raising questions over emergency response timing in coastal areas.

This fire accident took place in Ashwem-Mandrem area of Goa, where a cluster of high-end cottages was engulfed in flames which quickly spread in surrounding areas. Locals initially attempted to control the blaze, but it spread too rapidly for their efforts to be effective.

According to India Today report the authorities are expected to carry out detailed assessment of the incident to determine the cause behind the blaze.

A famous decoration materials unit located in Mumbai's Goregaon West area was engulfed in a massive fire on Thursday, April 16. According to the information, the blaze erupted at around 9.30 am in a shop located on the Link Road near Bangur Nagar Metro Station.

Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB) initially declared Level Fire I and brought it under control. However, Metro services at Bangur Nagar Metro Station remained unaffected. Meanwhile, traffic on the Link Road was disrupted as fire engines were parked on the raod and engaged in a dousing operation.
