In a disturbing incident in Greater Noida, a traffic police constable was dragged on the bonnet of a moving car for nearly 500 metres after a driver attempted to flee a routine vehicle check. The incident, which was captured on camera, occurred around 2.30 pm on Wednesday at the P3 roundabout. Traffic constable Gurmeet Chaudhary was on duty managing traffic when he signalled a red car to stop for checking. Instead of complying, the driver allegedly accelerated the vehicle and rammed into the policeman, creating a life-threatening situation on the busy road.
As the car sped away, Gurmeet Chaudhary was forced to cling to the bonnet to save himself. A bystander recorded the dramatic visuals, which later surfaced on social media and quickly went viral. The video shows the vehicle racing through the area with the traffic policeman holding on desperately. After covering nearly half a kilometre, the driver reportedly abandoned the car and fled from the spot, leaving the injured constable behind. The incident sparked outrage among the public and raised serious concerns about the safety of traffic personnel on duty.

Police officials confirmed that Gurmeet Chaudhary escaped without any serious injuries and is currently safe. Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Sudhir Kumar said a case has been registered against the unidentified driver at the Beta-2 police station. The vehicle involved in the incident has been seized. The FIR has been filed under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including charges related to attempt to murder, rash driving, and assault on a public servant. Police teams are actively working to identify and arrest the absconding accused.
