Srinagar, Feb 6 An explosion occured in Srinagar's Lal Bazar area on Thursday. The security forces cordoned off the area and sources said that no one was hurt in the blast.

This is the second grenade attack in the city in the last four days since Sunday.

On Sunday, a grenade blast took place near Lal Chowk in which two CRPF personnel and two civil were injured. The grenade was lobbed upon the troops deployed there.

The police gunned down two militants on the outskirts of Srinagar on Wednesday, who belonged to the Lashar -e- Toiba and the Hizbul Mujahiden terror outfits.

Police say that many modules of the militants have been busted over the last couple of months. Security forces have killed 20 militants in the month of January.
