Gandhinagar, March 6 The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced new district and city presidents for Gujarat, appointing 26 district presidents and six city presidents.

Anil Patel has been named the BJP president for Gandhinagar district, Chandubhai Makwana for Junagadh district, Atul Kanani for Amreli, Kirtisinh Vaghela for Banaskantha, and Bharatbhai Rathod for Surat.

These appointments come as part of the party's efforts to strengthen its leadership at the grassroots level ahead of upcoming elections. While the list includes most district and city presidents, some key appointments remain pending.

The BJP is yet to announce the names for the Vadodara district president, as well as city presidents for Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad, Porbandar, and Panchmahal. Party sources indicate that these selections will be finalized soon.

Among the city BJP presidents, Paresh Kumar Patel has been appointed for Surat, Dr. Madhav K. Dave for Rajkot, Binaben Kothari for Jamnagar, Dr. Jayaprakash Soni for Vadodara, Gaurav Rupareliya for Junagadh, and Kumarbhai Shah for Bhavnagar.

These leaders are expected to play a crucial role in mobilising party workers and strategising for local elections.

In the district leadership, Girish Rajgor has been assigned to Mehsana, Ramesh Sindhav to Patan, Shailesh Davda to Ahmedabad, Bhuralal Shah to Navsari, Dashrath Baria to Mahisagar, and Snehal Dharia to Dahod.

Other appointments include Kishore Gavit for Dang, Suraj Vasava for Tapi, Hemant Kansara for Valsad, Prakash Modi for Bharuch, and Neel Rao for Narmada. In Saurashtra and Kutch, Devji Varchand will lead Kutch, Alpesh Dholaria will head Rajkot, Jayanti Rajkotia will oversee Morbi, and Sanjay Parmar has been appointed for Gir Somnath.

Additionally, the leadership for Aravalli, Devbhoomi Dwarka, Sabarkantha, Chhota Udaipur, Anand, and Botad has been finalized with Bhikhaji Thakor, Mayur Gadhvi, Kanubhai Patel, Umesh Rathwa, Sanjay Patel, and Mayur Patel taking charge, respectively. Hitendra Singh Chauhan will lead Surendranagar, while Vinod Bhanderi has been appointed for Jamnagar.
