A sector 57 resident has got a shocker of an electricity bill from the Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam for the last two months. His bill is a whopping over Rs 77 lakh. And the bill has been generated for domestic consumption. Gopal Ram, the consumer, has been given due date to pay the bill till January 4. After that, if the electricity bill is not paid, a fine of around Rs 2.24 lakh will be levied. It has been reported that wrong electricity bill has been received before.

Gopal Ram lives in a 200-square-foot flat in Sector 57 in EWS Colony, Housing Board.

Hukam Singh, a resident of EWS colony has received electricity bill of around Rs 47,000. Chhatrapal Arora who also lives in the same colony has got electricity bill of Rs 99,000. A Hindi website has reported about this. A few days ago, a similar incident took place in Uttar Pradesh where a farmer got an electricity bill of Rs 26 lakh. 

Earlier as well there have been several instances where the consumers have received inflated bills which the DHBVN officials have often related to the technical glitches of software issues.
