Gurugram, Dec 3 As farmers' protest against the Centre's new agricultural laws continued for the eighth consecutive day, the Gurugram traffic police on Thursday issued a fresh advisory to commuters and asked them to avoid certain routes.

Taking to Twitter, Gurugram traffic police said: "In the wake of the ongoing farmers' agitation in Delhi, several routes leading towards the national capital have been diverted."

The Gurugram police have diverted traffic near Kapdiwas border, Bilaspur Chowk, Panchgaon Chowk, Manesar Chowk, Kherki Daula Toll Plaza, Hero Honda Chowk, Rajiv Chowk, and Shankar Chowk on the National Highway-48.

Commuters coming from Kapdiwas border to Delhi have also been advised to take Pataudi-Jhajjar route, besides, those coming from Pataudi to Delhi can take alternative route via Farrukhnagar-Jhajjar road.

Similarly, Panchgaon Chowk towards Delhi, Farrukhnagar-Jhajjar roads have been designated for the commuters.

Furthermore, U-turn from Manager Chowk and Kherki Daula toll Plaza towards Kundli-Manesar-Palwal super Expressway have been designated.

Also, traffic from Hero Honda Chowk towards Farrukhnagar-Jhajjar-Badli road have also been diverted.

The U-turn from Rajiv Chowk on the National Highway via Hero Honda Chowk has been diverted and traffic from Shankar Chowk U-turn on the Delhi-Jaipur carriageway has been diverted.

"Amid farmers' protest commuters do not face traffic mess, so as a preventative measure, we have diverted several routes towards Delhi," said a senior traffic police official.

"We have also enhanced our security arrangements at the border points. At present, the situation is under control and there are no protestors at this border point," the official added.
