A clash broke out between two communities during a Ram Navami Mangala procession in Jharkhand's Hazaribagh on Tuesday night, March 26, escalating into intense stone-pelting and vandalism. The police had to use mild force to bring the situation under control.

The clashes erupted after alleged objectionable slogans were raised near Jhanda Chowk, reported the news agency IANS. The incident occurred near Jama Masjid in the Sadar police station area.

The incident took place at around 11 pm on Tuesday. The situation turned tense near Jama Masjid Chowk in Hazaribagh, where stones were pelted from both sides after the playing of communal songs. The police had to fire four rounds in the air to disperse the crowd.

Earlier, on February 26, tensions flared between two groups over the installation of religious flags and loudspeakers on Mahashivratri. The confrontation led to stone-pelting from both sides, injuring several people. Upon receiving the information, the police rushed to the scene and restored order. As a precautionary measure, heavy police deployment was put in place.
