After watching Kapil Mishra's speech, the police officer present in the court identified the sub-inspector present in the video.

Mehta Sought time and requested the court to take up the matter on Thursday. The matter will, however, be taken up at 2:30 p.m.

The court, earlier on Wednesday, agreed to hear the plea and also directed a senior Delhi Police official to be present during the hearing.

The plea filed by activist Harsh Mander was mentioned before a division bench of the High Court headed by Justices S. Muralidhar as the Chief Justice bench is on leave. The matter has been kept for hearing later on Wednesday.

Mander has sought arrest of BJP leaders Kapil Mishra, Anurag Thakur and Parvesh Verma and their prosecution.

"After provocative speeches were given by the three prominent politic liked to the assailants, the assailants carried out mutiple brutal attacks on unarmed persons who were protesting against CAA," the plea claimed.

He has requested the court to constitute a Special Investigating Team (SIT) headed by officers from outside the national capital.

The petition sought for a direction to the Central government to deploy Army to control law and order situation in the affected areas.

Among other prayers, it also sought an inquiry by a retired judge into "communal attacks".
