A helpline number was recently made available in the Lok Sabha for the budget session to help MPs quickly access reference notes and background material for debates. However, it has come to light that the helpline number is being contacted more by the general public than the MPs.

The unique helpline became operational and it has been receiving a large number of calls from the general public. Many of them want Prime Minister Narendra Modi's number, while many want to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Some people want to give advice and suggestions to Modi. The staff also said that no one is asking for information on the topic of discussion in the Lok Sabha.

An official of the helpline said on condition of anonymity that the helpline number has been shown many times on the Lok Sabha channel. As a result, a large number of telephones are coming from the general public. Most of these telephones are coming from rural areas. It was informed that some people directly ask for the number of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while others ask for the time of Prime Minister Modi's visit.

The helpline was launched by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on the backdrop of the budget session. The purpose of this was to make information and other matters immediately available to the MPs during the discussions in the House. The helpline can be used by MPs anytime, anywhere.

The Lok Sabha channel is popular in rural and semi-urban areas. So when the helpline number appeared, many people contacted and asked when they would get the corona vaccine. The farmers’ protests and the Covid-19 vaccines were what the citizens were most interested about.
