Himachal Pradesh Landslide News: At least 15 people were killed when a massive landslide buried a private bus under debris in the Balughat area of Jhanduta sub-division in Bilaspur district of Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday, October 7, 2025. The bus, carrying 30 to 35 passengers, was travelling from Rohtak in Haryana to Ghumarwin. Police and district administration officials reached the site and rescue operations are ongoing. So far, 15 bodies have been recovered, and three passengers were rescued alive.

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu expressed grief over the incident and directed officials to speed up rescue efforts. "The news of the devastating landslide near Balughat (Bhalla Bridge) in the Jhanduta Assembly constituency of Bilaspur district has shaken me to the core. In this massive landslide, tragic news has come of 10 people losing their lives after a private bus was caught in it, and there is apprehension that several others may be trapped under the debris. Rescue operations are ongoing at a war footing. Instructions have been given to the authorities to deploy their full machinery. I am in touch with the local administration and am continuously receiving moment-by-moment updates on the entire rescue operation," CM wrote in Hindi.

"May God grant peace to the departed souls and provide strength to the grieving families. In this difficult time, I stand with all the affected families," he added.
