Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi Bareilvi, the National President of All India Muslim Jamaat, appealed to Muslim communities to stay off roads and streets during the festival of Holi, which falls on Friday, March 14, this year. "The holy month of Ramadan Sharif is ongoing, and preparations for Holi have also begun. In this regard, I want to appeal to all Muslims and emphasize its importance," Razvi said.

Maulana Razvi said that the festival of Holi falls on Friday and asked mosques to keep the timings of Friday prayers around 2.30 to avoid any incidents and clashes. He also requested Hindu brothers not to put colours on people observing fasting and attending prayers at mosques.

"Ramadan teaches patience... Muslims should follow these teachings. During Holi, they should avoid roaming unnecessarily on roads and streets. If it's extremely necessary to go out for important work, they should do so cautiously," said Maulana Razvi Bareilvi, reported the news agency IANS.

"They should stay indoors for 3-4 hours to ensure that Holi is celebrated peacefully and their sacred Ramadan also passes in tranquility," he added.
