The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) has rescheduled the class 12th exam English paper. Earlier, the examination was scheduled to take place on March 8, but after rescheduling the date, it will be held on Tuesday, March 25, from 2 pm to 5 pm. This comes after reports of a suspected paper leak concerned HPBOSE officials.

Earlier, the HPBOSE was postponed and rescheduled due to heavy snowfall in several districts of Himachal Pradesh, including Pangi in Chamba and Lahaul-Spiti districts.

This year, around 1.95 lakh students will have registered to appear for the Class 10 and 12 board exams. The HPBOSE has increased the number of examination centres from 2,250 last year to 2,300 this year. The board also deployed a flying squad at each examination centre in the state to prevent cheating.

Meanwhile, the Himachal Pradesh government will shut down institutions with low enrollment and below-par standards. On March 7, 2025, an incident led to the initial postponement of the HPBOSE 12th English exam. The Government Senior Secondary School in Chuwari, Chamba District, made a mistake and unsealed the 12th English question paper for the Class 10 test. There were worries about a possible paper leak as a result of Class 10 students having access to the Class 12 English paper.
