In a tragic incident, a Class 8 student of a private school died by suicide on Saturday (February 22) after jumping from the school building. According to police, the 14-year-old boy took the extreme step after being reprimanded and allegedly slapped by a teacher.

The incident occurred around 9:30 am when a Physical Education teacher reportedly rebuked the student in front of his classmates for allegedly "turning the direction" of a CCTV camera inside the classroom. Feeling humiliated, the boy later asked for permission to use the washroom but instead went to the fourth floor and jumped, police said.

He was immediately rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Some students claimed that the teacher had slapped the boy during the scolding. Meanwhile, a note purportedly written by the student was found in his book, in which he apologized to his mother for "ending his life," police added. Authorities are investigating the matter, and further action will be taken based on their findings.
