Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], February 1 : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday highlighted that the Union Budget focuses on common people and is women-centric. He further underlined that it aims to achieve the mission of "Viksit Bharat" by 2047, while addressing a press conference.

"The world's largest democracy has further laid out a 'Viksit Bharat roadmap and presented the Union budget today. I thank PM Modi for his leadership and supervision of the budget guidelines. I also thank Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for presenting this budget..." CM Yogi said.

He stated that the budget has allocated over Rs. 12 lakh for infrastructure development, including the construction of seven rail corridors.

"This budget reflects the aspirations of 145 crore people in the country and their hopes. It embodies the vision and mission of 'Viksit Bharat'. Over Rs 12 lakh crore has been provisioned for capital expenditure towards infrastructure development, including provisions for seven rail corridors..." he said.

During the press conference, the Chief Minister said that the Union Budget 2026 covers a wide spectrum of sectors and reforms, which will give relief to the general public.

"The budget is focused on the working women, primarily towards the development of hostels, along with the development of hostels for math, science, statistics, and emerging technology sectors. It will boost the infrastructure for the youth of the country. It will also ensure that there are opportunities for youth in every sector. Alongside, it covers a wide spectrum of sectors and reforms that will ease the lives of ordinary citizens. It will take the Indian economy to new heights..." he said.

CM Yogi welcomed the budget, saying it will bring a plethora of opportunities to women, youth, farmers, businessmen, and common people.

"This budget will bring opportunities to women, youth, farmers, businessmen, and common men. I welcome the Union Budget 2026...The budget was awaited by everyone, especially by the middle-class families... I can say that this new budget is made with the vision of creating a new India, in view of women, youth, businessmen, and common people..." he stated.

Earlier today, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Budget 2026-27 in Lok Sabha, her ninth consecutive Union Budget.

Asserting that the Union Budget 2026-27 is driven by "Yuvashakti" and based on "three kartavyas," Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Sunday proposed seven high-speed rail corridors, new dedicated freight corridors, and the operationalisation of 20 national waterways over the next five years as part of the Union Budget.

The Union Budget has outlined a major push for environmentally sustainable passenger transport, proposing the development of seven high-speed rail corridors across key urban and economic centres. These corridors will act as growth connectors, cutting travel time, reducing emissions, and supporting regional development.
