A car mowed down several pedestrians, which led to the death of three people and injured six others in Rajasthan's Jaipur on Monday night, April 7. According to the reports, the driver was under the influence of alcohol and was driving at high speed during the accident.  BJP MLA Balmukund Acharya alleged that the accused driver, Usman Hasan, is a Congress worker and purposely killed people by driving at a high speed. He demanded the accused should be hanged till death and demanded bulldozer action against Hasan.

"The accused, Usman Hasan, has done this deliberately. He is a Congress functionary and should be hanged. I have full faith in my government, CM Bhajanlal Sharma, that this (victim's) family will get compensation and at the same time, bulldozers will be used on those who have caused this accident,"  BJP's Balmukund Acharya told the news agency ANI.

The BJP MLA alleged that the accused is working under the Congress MLA Amin Kagzi and he is trying to save him. "The accused is a worker of Amin Kagzi (Congress MLA) and he is trying to save him. But we will not let him escape. We will ensure that he is hanged."

On Tuesday morning, 48-year-old Virendra Singh, a resident of Shastri Nagar, died during treatment. The other two deceased have been identified as Awadhesh Pareek (35), a resident of Laldas Ka Bada, and Mamta Kanwar (50), a resident of Shastri Nagar. 

According to the reports, the accused driver, Usman Hasan, runs an iron factory in the Vishwakarma area. The police have taken him into custody. Heavy police have been deployed due to protests in the Choti Chaupar area over the accident.

Former Rajasthan deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot on the Jainpur hit-and-run accident, he said, 'In a horrific incident late night in Jaipur, an uncontrollable car crushed several people in which two people died on the spot. I express my deepest condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the accident. May God give them the strength to bear this immense loss. I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured."

Congress leader Pilot demanded action against the accused driver. "Strict action should be taken against the culprit so that the victim families can get justice.."
