Jaipur : A major tragedy averted were a woman with a child lost her balance on escalator but policeman's quick action saved the life. This incident occurred at the metro station in Jaipur on Friday, 24th April at around 5:34pm. CCTV footage of this incident has surfaced on social media and policeman is getting praised for his quick response. 

Metro authorities' CCTV footage shows a couple with bags boarding an escalator; the woman, in a saree and holding a child, lost her balance, nearly causing the child to fall. A major tragedy was averted by a policeman's timely intervention.

Earlier, a 63-year-old woman died after van being run over by her while she was sitting outside her house in Jaipur. This incident occurred on April 8, 2026 afternoon 1 pm in the Mahesh Nagar police station areas's Chaudhary colony. As per the police, victim identified as Kalavati Gujar, resident of Chaudhary colony in Kartarpura, reportedly stepped outside her home due to breathing discomfort caused by asthma. She was sitting near her house and speaking to two people when incident took place. 

A driver started a van parked down the lane and drove it into a woman, dragging her for approximately 15 feet before running her over. Two nearby pedestrians narrowly avoided being hit. The driver abandoned the van and fled the scene. Locals transported the critically injured woman to a private hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
