A 7-year-old girl lost her life due to a reckless car driver in Guru Nanak Pura West, near Chaugitti, in Jalandar. According to reports, deceased child Radhika was playing outside her home and at the same time car driver who had visited the area to meet relatives began turning his vehicle within the lane. Driver was not aware of girl playing nearby.
According to the Jagran, driver alleged that the driver executed the turn without looking, resulting into a girl getting trapped. The accident was so sudden and horrific that the child had no opportunity to react or save herself, and she succumbed to her injuries on the spot.
In the immediate aftermath of the incident, a large crowd gathered amidst the ensuing chaos. The victim's relatives, upon seeing her body, were overcome with inconsolable grief. The neighborhood mourns the sudden loss of the young girl. Police arrived, took custody of the body, and sent it for a post-mortem examination.

The driver is in custody and under questioning, with preliminary investigations suggesting negligence. Police confirm the matter is under investigation.
