A fire broke out in the attic portion of a hotel near Abdullah Bridge in Srinagar on Wednesday. Fire tenders were on the scene, but the extent of the damage was not immediately clear. Video footage shared by ANI showed thick black smoke billowing from a window as firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze. 

"The control room received information at 1:40 that a fire incident had occurred here. We have three nearby stations, we pressed all three into service. When we reached here, we saw that there is a five-story structure named Hotel Lucky Akbar, the attic portion here was involved in the fire. Instantly, we launched a firefighting operation and our firefighters contained the fire. Fortunately, no life was lost in the incident," Assistant Director Fire Services Aqib Hussain Mir said as quoted by ANI.
