A terrorist opened fire at the Indian Army vehicle on Wednesday afternoon, February 26, in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district near Phall, Mallah, under Sunderbani Police Station limits. The militant attacked an Army convoy at around 12.30 pm today and fired 2-3 rounds at the Army before fleeing the scene.

Following the attack, the Army began a search operation to track down the attackers and cordoned off the area. The incident occurred approximately 5-6 kilometres from the CRPF Battalion Headquarters in Sunderbani. There were no immediate reports of any casualties in the brief firing near Phal village in the Sunderbani sector.

The terrorists believed to be hiding in a forest, fired a few rounds at the army vehicle passing through the area -- considered a traditional infiltration route for militants.
