Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena announced on X (formerly known as Twitter) that the ancient Jhandewalan Mandir on Rani Jhansi Marg has voluntarily removed its gate beside the foot-over bridge, following his request. Saxena praised this move as an "exemplary exercise" to enhance pedestrian safety and alleviate traffic congestion on the crucial route connecting North and South Delhi.

Describing the impact, he mentioned that the initiative will bring significant relief to residents and commuters in densely populated areas such as Eid Gaah, Sadar Bazar, Azad Market, Model Basti, Pul Bangash, and Motia Khan. Saxena expressed his appreciation for the civic spirit demonstrated by the Temple Management.

"It will bring major relief to residents and commuters of heavily congested areas like Eid Gaah, Sadar Bazar, Azad Market, Model Basti, Pul Bangash & Motia Khan among others. My salute to the civic spirit of the Temple Management", said Delhi LG.
