A eight-year-old boy died after drowning in pond located in Ghaghri village, within the Bandarjora Panchayat area under the jurisdiction of the Ramgarh Police Station. This tragedy occurred on Friday April 24 morning while he went to bathe in the pond along with his sister.

While bathing, deceased Prince and Jyoti Kumar  siblings began to sink into the deeper waters of the pond. Upon witnessing this, some bystanders raised an alarm. Acting swiftly, villagers jumped into the pond and managed to pull Jyoti Kumari out of the water. Prince drowned after entering deep water.

Villagers recovered him within five minutes, but he had already died. His family rushed him to the Medical College Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead. Afterward, his family returned his body to their village. Prince's father, Ramesh Manjhi, who works as a laborer in Karnataka, is expected to arrive by Saturday evening. Prince was Ramesh Manjhi's only son and a second-grade student at Ghaghri Primary School, where his sister, Jyoti Kumari, is in the third grade.
