Two were seriously injured on Monday, February 23, after a heavy-goods truck they were travelling in plunged 40 feet from a road and collided with a moving coal train in the Lalmatia area of Godda, Jharkhand. The incident occurred on the dedicated Merry-Go-Round (MGR) railway track operated by the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC).

The heavy truck reportedly lost control before veering off the road and falling onto the tracks below, striking a coal rake as it passed. According to the news agency IANS, driver Lalu Kumar and his assistant, Manish Kumar, both sustained severe injuries in the following incident. Manish was trapped for three hours until the rescue team arrived.

Injured windividuals ere transported to the hospital for the treatment of their injuries. NTPC Rescue Team Chief Shubhashish Banerjee said as soon as the information was received, we reached the spot and began rescue operations.
He said the incident occurred at around 3.30 am in the morning on Monday and we received information at around 6 am. "Regarding the incident, we have received information from the senior command. As soon as we received the information, we immediately left and, upon reaching the incident site, rescue operations were started," Banerjee.
