The Kanpur Police has arrested Vikas Dubey's daughter-in-law, neighbour and maid for being an accomplice to Dubey during Friday  Kanpur encounter case. The three have been identified as Shama, Suresh Verma and Rekha respectively.

As per the police, the three women helped his accomplices when the shootout took place at Dubey's residence in Bikru village of Kanpur Dehat. Dubey's daughter-in-law, maid and neighbor were giving all information about the police personnel's location to Dubey during the encounter.

The police further said that, Dubey's daughter-in-law Shama did not open the door of their house when one of the cops knocked looking for a hideout to save his life during the shootout.

Vikas Dubey is main accused in the Kanpur encounter case, in which a group of assailants opened fire on a police team which was trying to arrest a criminal in the city late on July 3. Dubey has been absconding since the incident.
