Karnataka: Major fire broke out at Sukhasagar Metro Mall in Maratha Galli, Hubballi, on Thursday, January 22, 2026 night. Blaze caused significant property damage but fortunately no casualties reported. 

The raging fire completely gutted the fifth and fourth floors of Sukhasagar Metro Mall, burning furniture, clothing, and other retail outlets to ashes. Local authorities confirmed that no lives were lost in the incident.

Fire gutted the fourth and fifth floors of Sukhasagar Metro Mall in Maratha Galli on Thursday. Police Commissioner N. Shashikumar, who visited the scene and monitored the situation, reported that the fire started on the fourth floor and quickly spread to the fifth, impacting approximately 5,000 square feet on each level. While the cause is believed to be a short circuit, it remains unconfirmed. 

Firefighting teams have been battling the blaze for over three hours, with reinforcements arriving from surrounding areas. Initial reports indicate damage to a cloth center and a furniture center, but no injuries or fatalities have been reported.
