A pre-wedding photoshoot turned violent in Karnataka after a dispute broke out at a temple, leaving photographers injured and several people arrested. Such shoots are usually calm and well-planned, involving a couple, a scenic location, and a professional photography team capturing memorable moments. However, this particular shoot took an unexpected turn when tensions flared over an act that offended local sentiments. The incident highlights how a routine celebration quickly escalated into chaos due to a lack of awareness and sensitivity towards local customs and religious practices.
The incident occurred at the Bettada Bhairaveshwara temple in Sakleshpur taluka, a location known for its scenic beauty and popularity for pre-wedding shoots. A couple had arrived at the temple with a team of photographers to conduct their shoot. During the session, some photographers allegedly entered the temple premises wearing shoes and slippers. Local residents noticed this and objected strongly, as footwear is considered inappropriate within temple premises. The disagreement soon turned into a heated argument, which escalated rapidly into a physical confrontation between the two groups.
As tempers flared, a group of locals allegedly attacked the photographers, resulting in injuries and damage to their equipment. At least one camera was reportedly broken during the scuffle. The injured photographers, identified as Navi and Nandan, were rushed to the Sakleshpur taluka hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, police from the Sakleshpur Rural Police Station reached the spot promptly and brought the situation under control. A case has been registered, and seven individuals—Aashi, Prashant, Raksha, Arvind, Uchit, Prajwal, and Nishant—have been arrested. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the complete sequence of events.
