Three women lost their lives and eight others were injured in a road accident near Rani Cross on the outskirts of Devanahalli in Bengaluru Rural district of Karnataka.

The accident took place on NH 648, which connects Hoskote and Dabaspet. According to police, a lorry collided with a TT vehicle that was attempting to enter the service road from the highway. The force of the crash was so severe that a part of the TT vehicle was completely crushed.

The deceased have been identified as Jayamma (60), Yashodamma (60), and Ganga (38), all residents of Tiptur in Tumakuru district.

Another passenger, Kempamma, sustained serious injuries in the accident and was shifted to a hospital in Bengaluru for advanced treatment. Eight other individuals were also injured in the collision. Police have registered a case at the Devanahalli Traffic Police Station and further investigation into the incident is underway.
