Kozhikode, Kerala: A major fire broke out at a textile shop in Kozhikode on Tuesday, February 17, 2026. According to reports, the fire started at Jayalakshmi Silks on Kallai Road at around 6.10 p.m. Fire and Rescue Services personnel rushed to the spot and began efforts to control the flames.
The fire reportedly spread from the second floor to the third floor of the building. At least five fire engines were deployed to douse the blaze. All employees and shoppers were evacuated to safe places soon after.
No casualties were reported in the incident so far. The cause of the fire was not immediately known. Further investigation isunderway.
