Kerala: Over 30 Injured as Firecrackers Explode at Football Match in Malappuram (Watch Video)

Malappuram, Kerala (February 18, 2025): More than 30 people were injured after firecrackers exploded at a football ground near Areekode in Malappuram district on Tuesday.

According to reports, the incident occurred before the start of a match between United F.C. Nellikut and K.M.G. Maavoor when the firecrackers misfired and spread toward the spectators seated near the ground.

According to police, those injured were rushed to a nearby private hospital. No serious injuries have been reported so far. Officials are investigating the cause of the explosion.
