Unseasonal rain wreaked havoc in Kerala as two people lost their lives in rain-related incidents. A 13-year-old girl was killed after being struck by lightning in Uravapara, Idukki district, on Friday. The deceased has been identified as Nafeesath Misriya, a native of Perumbavoor and a Class 8 student. She had reportedly travelled to Uravapara with her family when she was caught in sudden heavy rain accompanied by lightning.

Her father, Afzal, sustained serious injuries and is in critical condition. A local resident, Gokul Raj, who attempted to rescue them, was also injured. Both are undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Thodupuzha.

In a separate incident, a 74-year-old woman died after a sheet of her house collapsed during heavy rain in Amburi, Thiruvananthapuram. The deceased has been identified as Rajamma Baby, a native of Mayam. Heavy rain and strong winds in the area in the afternoon caused significant damage.
