In a tragic incident, a 24-year-old Intelligence Bureau (IB) officer was found dead on a railway track near Pettah railway station near Thiruvananthapuram on Monday. The police suspect the case to be a suicide. The officer, identified as Megha, was a native of Koodal in Pathanamthitta district and had been residing as a paying guest near Pettah, authorities said.

According to the Pettah police, a loco pilot reported seeing a woman jump onto the tracks. Following the incident, Megha’s body was recovered and sent for a postmortem examination. After completing the necessary procedures, her body was handed over to her family.

Further investigation is underway to know the circumstances leading to the incident. Authorities are looking into Megha’s background and possible reasons behind the suspected suicide.
