One such terrifying incident recently occurred in Calicut (Kozhikode), Kerala, where a woman narrowly escaped being crushed by a mini dumper truck that lost control on an incline. The harrowing moment was caught on a nearby surveillance camera, and the footage has since surfaced online, sparking concern and conversation. The incident took place in Perumanna town, where a woman—riding what appears to be a red Honda Activa—was ascending a slope behind a mini dumper truck. Initially, the truck is seen moving ahead of her, but it suddenly halts in the middle of the incline. The woman, likely confused by the unexpected stop, also comes to a halt a safe distance behind the truck.
Moments later, the truck begins rolling backward. At first, the motion is slow, prompting the woman to attempt reversing her scooter using her feet. But within seconds, the truck gains alarming speed. Realizing the imminent danger and that there’s no time to save the scooter, she jumps off and rolls to the side—just in time to avoid getting crushed. The truck, moving with significant momentum, runs over the scooter, completely flattening it and dragging it down the slope before crashing into a nearby structure. Fortunately, the woman had fallen to her right and avoided the truck’s path.
Despite the frightening experience, she sustained only minor injuries and quickly managed to move to safety. The video shows the truck's co-driver stepping out to check on her, and bystanders rushing to help. However, fearing backlash from the crowd, the truck crew appears to withdraw soon after. Preliminary information suggests that the truck lost control due to brake failure. The driver may not have realized the woman was behind the vehicle when it began to roll backward.. Thankfully, this close call ended without loss of life—but not without leaving behind a deep psychological scar on the female.
